The data stored in your android device is as valuable as your device itself.If your phone is stolen / lost, you must want to keep your information out of reach of thief. and the most easiest way to do this is enable basic password protection on of your phone.
Its good idea to lock your phone with password. So it will make sure that only authorized person will access the phone.
To set the password to your phone go to System settings and select security , select screen lock.
you will see 4 options.
Its recommended that you should select Pin/password.
Make sure your password should be Strong enough.
Tap Pin option. It will ask, ‘choose your Pin‘ enter the desired pin. and memorize it. you will be prompted to enter it again. once you have confirmed your phone will be locked.
If you love fancy looking password then go for pattern lock.
you can any type of pattern connecting at least 4 dots together. more the dots you join in you pattern the more difficult it will be for someone to crack it. Its strongly recommended that you should choose at least 8 dots.
Once you’ve got the pattern you want in your head, begin drawing your new unlock pattern by touching your finger down on any dot on the screen and then swiping your finger over nearby dots to connect them in any pattern vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
It may be tempting to simply connect four dots in a simple L shape, but in doing so, chances are that your phone could be accessed by the first person who tries his luck at your pattern.
If you’re intent on really locking your phone, don’t compromise on your unlock pattern or password.
